New EU regulations regarding the maximum levels of lead and cadmium
We would like to inform you about the changes in European regulations regarding the maximum levels of lead and cadmium in certain foodstuff.
These Regulations are effective as of August 31st, 2021.
Excerpt of applicable new maximum levels
1 according to European Spice Association
* The drying factors are not applicable as the limits are defined specifically the already dried spices.
The limit for Cadmium in fresh herbs remains at 0.2 mg/kg and the drying factor is still applicable for dried goods.
